Poem: Picking Roses

Higher powers
don´t order us
to kneel down
in front of them

If we bow to
the angels
they bow
back to us
rejoicingly
sending roses
on our path
when we
understand
the eternal equality
in our diversity

Healthy humility
derives from
the open heart,
it´s not about
being lower,
less deserving,
nor is respect
bound to
being higher,

wisdom can
take any form,
and ultimately,
has it truly got
a form at all,
yet we might
sense it smiling
with a sparkle
in the eye
inside of each
and everyone
